The Flower Before The Fruit: A Collection of Poetry about Life, Love, and Everything in Between (Physical)
Description
The Flower Before The Fruit is an empowering collection of reflections that follows the journey of a young woman through a series of stories amongst metaphors and rhymes meant to depict portions of life, love, and everything in between. Each reflection is crafted to either inspire, encourage, or provide a point of deep self-reflection into one's shadow.
Divided into two parts, part one: through the mud and murky waters and part two: she blooms. The Flower Before The Fruit explores the themes of love, heartbreak, desire, relationship dynamics, identity, acceptance, oppression, trust, self-love, personal transformation, growth, and self-esteem.
The philosophy: The seed is coded to become the flower, yet it is no longer required to be the seed to be the flower — it simply carries that intelligence into its next phase of existence. The flower illustrates the maturation process. The place in between seed and fruit — the portion often overlooked because it seems to serve no apparent external purpose. The portion that weathers the storms, grows through the mud, becomes resilient, deepens the roots, experiences the world to produce great fruit. Fruit doesn't have to be edible, it could be the flower's aroma or in the case of the Blue Lotus, its wisdom, ability to enhance dreams, vibrancy, delicacy, sensuality and ancient spirit.
Each reflection hopes to mirror back to the reader parts of their journey they're currently navigating, have already navigated, or may know someone who is navigating that place.
Serving as a resource to anyone who may feel alone on their journey of self-actualization and self-expression, anyone seeking community, anyone who desires to alchemize pain into power, or anyone simply needing a gentle reminder that this too shall pass ~
